Photo cards make great invitations if you are hoping to do something with a personal touch. They are appropriate for many different events and occasions, and are fun to design. The next time you need to order invitations, think about whether the photo card might be a good way to go.

Wedding invitations and Save the Dates work well with photos. You can use an engagement photograph on the front, or even pictures of the bride and groom as children. Other ideas include things such as a photograph of the church or wedding ceremony site, or a picture of the flowers that will be used that day. There are many different ways to utilize photos for this type of invitation.

Graduations are another occasion where the photo invitation works well. Take a picture of the school with the graduate in front of it for the front cover or use a picture of roses and a rolled up “diploma” that you can make yourself with a piece of paper and ribbon. Get creative and have fun coming up with different ideas until you find one that you really like.

Birthday parties are another invite that can be dressed up with a photograph. Take a picture of the birthday boy or girl and use it on the card, or use one that you have from when they were younger. If you prefer, you can wrap up a few “presents” and use that as a photo, or use a picture of a birthday cake if you have one from another party.

Party invites are a lot of fun to create, and they can reflect a theme, or just be fun. If you are having a get-together with friends at your home, why not use a photo of your house or yard as the invitation? If you have a yearly event that people attend, use a picture from the previous year as the invite. There are many different things you can do for this type of occasion. Use your imagination!

Baptisms are another event that can be a good candidate for the photo invitation. Simply take a picture of your child and use it for the front of the card. If you want to, you can even dress them up in what they will be wearing that day, to get the full effect. Another option is to just photograph the gown or outfit itself, or even just a corner of the lace edging of the gown to use for the front of the invitation.

Everybody loves photographs, and they can really add a nice touch to your invitations if you don’t mind doing just a little bit of extra work. Use pictures that you already have or take them yourself. Either way, they are a great way to make your invitations a little bit more personal.

Why go digging through piles of generic invitations at a party or card store when you can create your own? VistaPrint makes it easy for you to design custom invitations for anything from an outdoor barbecue party to a baptism. Do you like whimsical, silly designs? If that sounds good, we’ve got you covered. Perhaps you would prefer an elegant, sophisticated look? We can help you with that too. Want to add photos to the invite? No problem.

If you want to do something out of the ordinary, you can create and upload your own design. This can make it a bit more personal and artistic. If you are looking to do something specific, but don’t have the desire to spend time working out the details, we have templates that you can browse through. This is often helpful, as you may find the perfect one, or at the very least come up with some good ideas.

Some of the things that add appeal to a custom invitation are borders, photographs, matching envelopes and graphics. Try to choose something that is appropriate for the degree of formality too. Bridal luncheon invitations may need to show a little restraint, while those for a sporting event party might lend themselves to humor. While there are no set “rules,” it can help to take note of this factor when setting up your design.

Matching envelopes and address labels can really add a sleek, polished look to your invitations. This type of cohesive style really makes them appear expensive—even though they are not. It will also save you time to place the order for everything at once. That way you don’t have to run around and gather more supplies prior to mailing. VistaPrint allows you to add your design to all the materials.

Once you place the order, all you have to do when everything comes is address them, put your return address label and a stamp on the envelope and pop everything in the mailbox. You may want to check with your local post office to see if they have postage stamps that would work well for your theme. They have a wide selection.

Custom invitations don’t have to be prohibitively expensive. When you order through VistaPrint, you can be sure you are getting a quality product with the features you want—at a low price. This means you can make everything look just like you want it to while staying within your budget.

Is there a way to choose quinceanera invitations that make everyone happy?

Your chica is going to be 15 years old and you are celebrating her new maturity the old way, with a big quinceanera. However, while you want to honor the traditions of your roots, you also want to make your child happy. So, how do you balance her modern desires with your longing to throw the traditional quinceanera that your family couldn’t afford to give you when you turned 15? Begin with the quinceanera invitations.

Order two sets of invitations — one set in Spanish and one set in English. This way, you can easily include friends who do not speak Spanish in the celebrations without slighting family and friends that do not speak English. Your child will probably feel much happier about the traditional party when she realizes that you are willing to include her friends from other cultures and your family will be reassured by the fact that you cared enough to include relatives who only speak Spanish.

Ask your child to choose the actual design of the invitations. Since all the options provided by most printing companies look attractive, you don’t have to worry about being upset by an inappropriate design. However, she’ll be happy to be able to choose colors and fonts that reflect her taste.

Can I make my bridal shower invitations perfect?

You’re putting together a bridal shower for the bride’s wedding. There are so many things to remember, like letting people know where to view the gift registry and deciding on a place to hold the party. Luckily, the bridal shower invitations can practically make themselves. However, you do want to be sure you include all the information the guests will need. To be sure the invitations are perfect, you should:

Check all the facts at least twice to make sure that you have the details right. You don’t want guests showing up the day before the celebration takes place because of a typo!

Be sure to note any special instructions, such as whether guests should bring a gag gift.

Consider including a sheet of paper that lists a few ideas for gifts the bride has included in the bridal registry for guests who are not happy with the thought of using technology to view the registry. Make sure they are items that the bride could use several of. For example, if she is hoping for 12 place settings of a very nice china pattern, it won’t matter if several people buy a setting as a gift without checking the registry.

Are there any tips for choosing baptism invitations?

A baptism or christening is one of the most important events in a child’s life. He or she is dressed in a beautiful gown and friends and family gather to celebrate with the child and his or her parents. The ceremony is often completely separate from any church services being held that day. This touching service is usually commemorated with special gifts, such as engraved lockets, that the child will treasure when he or she is older. With all of the fanfare of a baptism, it makes sense to choose baptism invitations that are just as special.

Consider choosing invitations that have the child’s photo on them. Dress him or her in the gown that is a treasured family heirloom, take a photo and upload it using an easy interface for people who want to create photo cards. If you choose to have a professional portrait taken, be sure you have the photographer’s permission to duplicate the photo on the invitations.

Don’t be afraid to choose a very simple design for your invitations. This is one time where the more colorful, bold invitation designs aren’t the best choice, since they lack the timeless elegance of more basic, austere design options.

Can I make my party invitations more exciting?

As Jane Doe opens yet another little cream invitation envelope, she stifles a yawn. It seems like every single one of her friends is graduating, getting married, or having a baby this year and every one of them is sending party invitations in the same understatedly elegant envelopes. What happened to the wild gang of fun loving rebels she used to have so much fun with? If only Jane had a friend who was willing to push the envelope, or even get rid of it entirely. To help Jane overcome her invitation ennui, you should:

Add some color and fun to the envelopes. Rubber stamped designs, sketches, or silly doodles can transform a staid, drab envelope into an exciting piece of art.

Shake things up with stamps. You can look for interesting stamps at your local post office or you can look into personalized postage stamps.

Use a completely different container, such as an Easter egg. Simply fold the invitation and stick it inside. Tape the egg shut and adhere a mailing label. The post office may think you’ve lost it, but they’ll mail those eggs. People have successfully mailed everything from old shoes to rubber duckies through the post office.
