Identify Art Quickly With Self Inking Stamps
Can self inking stamps be used for other purposes?
You’re in two huge art swaps and are creating several hundred greeting cards for resale. By the time you finish signing and identifying all of these pieces, you could have created several more pieces. As you package up your work and reach for your return address stamp, you are thinking that there has to be a better and faster way to identify your work so that you can become even more productive. Your gaze falls on the stamp and you feel like a cartoon light bulb is appearing over your head. Why not make self inking stamps that contain all the information you’ve been writing on the back of your handmade cards?
Altering address stamps for another purpose is incredibly simple. Just ignore the suggested purpose for each line and type the information you’d like it to say instead. For example, instead of typing your address, perhaps you want to have your website name appear on the address line. Instead of your city, state and zip code, you may prefer to have the third line on your stamp be a copyright notice, such as “All rights reserved.” to protect your work from theft or from being accidentally classified as an orphan work.
