Photo Invitations
Photo cards make great invitations if you are hoping to do something with a personal touch. They are appropriate for many different events and occasions, and are fun to design. The next time you need to order invitations, think about whether the photo card might be a good way to go.
Wedding invitations and Save the Dates work well with photos. You can use an engagement photograph on the front, or even pictures of the bride and groom as children. Other ideas include things such as a photograph of the church or wedding ceremony site, or a picture of the flowers that will be used that day. There are many different ways to utilize photos for this type of invitation.
Graduations are another occasion where the photo invitation works well. Take a picture of the school with the graduate in front of it for the front cover or use a picture of roses and a rolled up “diploma” that you can make yourself with a piece of paper and ribbon. Get creative and have fun coming up with different ideas until you find one that you really like.
Birthday parties are another invite that can be dressed up with a photograph. Take a picture of the birthday boy or girl and use it on the card, or use one that you have from when they were younger. If you prefer, you can wrap up a few “presents” and use that as a photo, or use a picture of a birthday cake if you have one from another party.
Party invites are a lot of fun to create, and they can reflect a theme, or just be fun. If you are having a get-together with friends at your home, why not use a photo of your house or yard as the invitation? If you have a yearly event that people attend, use a picture from the previous year as the invite. There are many different things you can do for this type of occasion. Use your imagination!
Baptisms are another event that can be a good candidate for the photo invitation. Simply take a picture of your child and use it for the front of the card. If you want to, you can even dress them up in what they will be wearing that day, to get the full effect. Another option is to just photograph the gown or outfit itself, or even just a corner of the lace edging of the gown to use for the front of the invitation.
Everybody loves photographs, and they can really add a nice touch to your invitations if you don’t mind doing just a little bit of extra work. Use pictures that you already have or take them yourself. Either way, they are a great way to make your invitations a little bit more personal.
